Hi alexa424 :)

I don't think you will have problems with the gouramis bothering the guppies and mollies.

What you might run into trouble with, however, is the gouramis competing with each other for space at the top. I think that no more than two gouramis would fit comfortably in a tank that size. If there are some tall plants in there too, well so much the better.

Gouramis are beautiful and graceful fish that make lovely "centerpiece" fish for any tank, but they do tend to be territorial with each other. In my experience, females tend to be less aggressive than males and often get along very well with each other. Except for the pearls and dwarf varieties, there is little difference in appearance among most gouramis between the males and females. Choosing two females is a reasonable alternative to getting a pair, and might be a good alternative if your tank is a 20 gallon high rather than a 20 gallon long. :D
