Welcomme to TFF. :hi:

Common names can be misleading as there are so many for some species, and some common names are "local." A search suggests the species is Botia kubotai, also known as angelicus loach and polka dot loach, and... whatever. Here is reliable data on this species:

First, it absolutely must have a group, I would suggest no fewer than five. I acquired six several years ago, and lost one along the way, but the remaining five have now been with me for six or seven years. They are peaceful for a Botia loach, but they do have interesting interactive behaviours that need the group. My two largest frequently do the "loach dance," sometimes for hours at a time.

They should have a larger tank though; mine are in a 4-foot tank (120 cm length), the minimum SF recommends too. They can bee quite active at times. Lots of chunks of wood are needed for "homes" and play; tunnels and crevices in the wood will be appreciated.
