Hi, First post but not strickly a newbie. Kept fresh and marines years ago but now I'm back after a 20 year break!

My problem is that in my new tank, which is about 4 weeks old I have a brown alge problem which is covering the back glass and the broad leaf plants.
The tank in an Aqua One that is 20" inches deep. It has two lights (white and pink) which are on 10 hours a day.
It contain 12 tiger barbs, 1 Plec and two 4" Clown loaches. I feed the tiger barbs once a dayand all is gone within 2 minutes. The Plec get a broken up Plec tablet after lights out.

Any thoughts as to the brown alge problem will be most welcome!

Thanks

Thanks for that - will give it a try.

Cheers!

i had this when i first set my tank up i believe it is just imature algee and just clean it off once your filter becomes mature the algee will go green the only thing is i think you might of added your fish a bit early and not given time for your water to cycle and your filter to mature enough i would buy a test kit and test the ph,nitite, amonia and nitrate just to make sure all ok
