Just looking for the consensus really.

I inherited a 180ltr juwel vision tank which contains a few red eye tetras, platys, a pair of sailfin mollies, two small (for now) plecos and a glorious koi betta.

They have been a community for over a year and all seem very happy and peaceful, even the betta. He does not shy away from other fish and the "nippy" tetras don't go near him really.

I have a spare 70ltr tank just incase which used to house guppys years ago, but is sortof on standby for a hospital/isolation tank.

Does anyone else have bettas in a community?

The other question was that the tank came with a fluval u2 filter, I think this is too small, but if I upgrade, will the flow rate be too much for the betta?

The tank is planted which may add a bit of shelter for the betta, but as I am an inexperienced betta keeper I wanted others opinions.

Thanks a lot!

Hi

Male Bettas are solitary fish and best kept that way.
