My aquarium has been empty for a while, and I am trying to plan out future inhabitants. I have read that axolotls can potentially reach a length of 12 inches. I was also thinking of keeping large tetras, danios, and guppies with it. Given its adult size, is there any chance those fish might become lunch? I'm not sure how big the mouth of an axolotl is, but I want to know if it's safe to keep them with such fish.

Thanks!

Axolotls are coolwater inhabitants; They should not be kept in tropical conditions. In addition to this, fish are likely to nip at an axolotl's gills so they should be kept alone or with things that can't nip and like cold water.

I don't know if they would eat fish, but I would suspect so.

Thank you for your input! I spent the last hour doing more research on them, and I think I have decided not to get one.
But thanks anyway!
