ammonia reading

Hi

I have done a test on my tank. The ammonia chart starts off from a yellowish to dark green for high readings.

My ammonia pills turn Red?

Does this mean ammonia is sky high?

There should be a chart which tells you what each colour means with your test kit. If the colour is not on your test kit chart do a large water change and test again, if the ammonia is still off the chart you may have a problem with your test kit or your water. I would do water changes everyday for about three days or until your ammonia reading is on your chart. If after all the water changes your ammonia reading still isnt on your chart you will have a test kit problem. Alternatively take a water sample to the lfs, they will test it for you and tell you what your water is like.

My test kit is

Ammonia result colour yellow - dark green
Nitrate result colour yellow - red

Thats with the 'interpet' test kits, which i guess you may be using cause you live in the UK too.
Maybe you got the wrong pill to what you think?

Oh yeah, I have to put two pills in for ammonia, your not forgeting one?
