do you have to cycle a tank in order to put in ADF's? can they handle being in a tank that is currently being cycled (with fish)?

i posted this before in the amphibians forum but no one bothered to answer me. can anyone help me here?

I have heard that is you put somewhere it can get out of water in there you can cycle with one. But I have never done it and only ever own one in my life.

I've been told they can survive and withstand cycling and when I first started out a few years ago may have inadvertantly cycled a tank with one and it did fine.

from what I have learned you shouldn't add any fish while the tank is cycling. the fish you started to cycle with have some what gotten used to the increasing ammonia/nitrite levels. the new fish will have more of a shock to its system. I think you should wait until your readings are at zero for both and then add more fish.
good luck

Yeah but ADF's are amphibians; African Dwarf Frogs. They're a bit more resilient than fish.
