3 Weeks Into Fish-in Cycle, And No Nitrite

My tank has been cycling with fish (yes I know, but sadly I believed the hype on the back of Aqua Cycle) for just over three weeks now. I've kept Amonia at bay (never had a reading of over 0.5) with regular water changes of up to 50%, but I have yet to see any indication of nitrIte.

I've read through the beginners guides on here but cant seem to find info on when I should be roughly expecting nitrItes to emerge.

I'm using the API master test kit.

water stats this morning were
Amonia - less than 0.25
Nitrite 0
Nitrate - 20
Ph 7.8

It can take 6 - 8 weeks.
