you don't know JACK FISH
Yesterday, I got two new mollies for my tank, one male and one female.
The female is beautiful, all white with black dots and one blue dot on the middle of her body on both sides.
I put them in around 2pm yesterday and they seemed good, even eating a little bit of the algea tablet i put in for the snail.
Later that night, i realized the female was kind of "falling" on her side most of the time. I had prepared a bucket of water to do a water change and the ammonia level in the aquarium was a bit high and the water seemed somewhat cloudy.
Anyway, I put her in the bucket of fresh water to see if she would be better. She swam around a little bit. I emptied about 1/4 of my tank in an empty bucket to do my water change and when i was ready to pour the other bucket in, i first took out the fish.
I scooped the molly with the net and put her in the tank. She fell like a rock right to the bottom. I scooped her up again and this time she didn't even move when i got her out of the water. I figured she was dead so i put her in a little glass and i was going to bring her back to the lfs tomorrow.
I start pouring the water in the tank and after about 2 minutes i hear the fish wiggling in the glass.
I put her back in the tank and she's doing a lot better now! She swims around with the other fish and doesn't seem to fall on her side anymore. She survived through the night!
I think i'm going to do another 25% water change this afternoon to get rid of some ammonia.
Anybody ever had an experience like this?
UPDATE:
Well my mollies are still alive but the female doesn't look that good. She won't move too much, except when the male bugs her. She didn't eat when i fed the fish
I changed 25% of the water again today. Ammonia was lower this morning then it was last night so i hope the cycling is getting done now. It's been a week now. I know I've made mistakes but nobody at the LFS told me and I found out about this place later
