Hi
I've recently aquired what i've been told is a zebra tilapia cichlid
he was an unwanted fish that i said i would look after in a spare tank until he can been re-homed
he's about 8" long.
I've had him for about 2 weeks now and can't seem to get him to eat anything. I've tried cichlid pellets, cucumber and prawns but he doesn't seem interested in anything.
anyones got any ideas why he isn't eating or anything else i can try?

thanks

Is it a tilapia buttikoferi?

Do you know what was he fed in the past?

Put food in about 10 mins after lights out and stay away from the tank for an hour or so. I found them to be seriously nervous at that size!

Hi, i did as you suggested and dropped a couple of prawns in last night.
came back to the tank this morning and the prawns were still there.
so this morning i dropped in several floating cichlid pellets and tonight i've came back and they're all still floating on the top :(
