Zebra plec

Has anyone got a zebra plec, how much did it cost and how easy are they to keep.

i went to buy a zebra plec on monday....was sooooo excited about finally finding 1.......when i went to the shop i saw there was a few in the tank n asked the guy in the shop how big they'd grow.......he said they were full size.....only 2-2.5 inches long

ive been lookin for 1 for months and was sooooooooo disappointed with them.....there was no way i was spending £52 on a fish that was already at adult size yet so small

well not yet anyway

I hear ya Teknikz!
I odered a zebra plec and a Panaque royal plec from the LFS and after 6 months waiting, got a Peckoltia L134 which they were passing off as a zebra and a Panaque species L191. Both were not the fish I ordered but Im delighted with them both! The real Zebra is very shy, needs live or frozen food and is unwilling to come out in the open to eat, they will bring it back to their cave. I would be very careful about getting one for a community tank as they cant compete for food.
The L134 turned out to be a blessing in disguise, he's active, great to look at and will eat cory pellets and frozen bloodworm.
Check him out in the Fish of the Month competition in Members aquarium pictures forum (and give the little guy a vote, he's been feeling bad about not being the fish I ordered and needs something to make him feel better!!)

i really thought that they were young ones....thought they'd grow to about 5-6 inches....was really gutted

i like urs tho ken.......really nice fish....might look for 1 2moro in pier aquatics in wigan....if not ive seen what was marked as a L90....dead long whispy tail....very nice

only 2-2.5 inches? i've been researching zebra plecs for a future big tank, and i thought they got up to 4-4.5 inches..................

by the way ken_g_w, your leopard frog plec rocks!!!!! i want one now. wasn't a plec fan until i saw his pictures!!!! tell him i said hes an awesome fish!!!
