My friend said she thinks I should get a few live bearers when I get a bigger tank. She says if I get some they breed and then my betta can eat the offspring and that he would like that. Is this true? and if so then would a betta do well with say 3 mollies?

EDIT: I meant Dalmatian xD wow.

Read the post on Mollies needing brackish water. It's stickied in these forums. If you don't have brackish water, you need immaculately clean freshwater.

No sailfin Mollies. The Bettas will nip.

Even the Mollies will eat their own fry, but that's not a guarantee some will not survive. You should have a plant to raise the fry or give them away to a LFS.

All fish will eat fry and like theotheragentm said their not worth keeping.

I just looked at your signature picture. If you're talking about the tank there, I would skip on it until you get more space. If you do have more space, Dalmation Mollies are okay as long as they are not sailfin types and you are keeping the water VERY clean. Otherwise you run the risk of fin rot and fungus.

Yeah, It would be after I have aquired a 35+ gallon tank. No more in the 10 gallon! :p
