i went to the LFS and got some zebra danios (3) 1 male 2 female they will be in a tank with 3 other platies is iths an OK configuration?

i am 100% sure that the danios are completly docile

and i have platies but they seem to bully each other :( but its not that bad like fin nipping

thanks i read that danios are rapid egg scaterer's and make a lot of babies i'd best be careful

I think it should be ok, I dont have alot of experiance with the two mixed though, tell me how it turns out :)

i will, i just have to fix the bad bacterial infection in my platy b4 i add the danios

Platies and Danios will get along famously. The danios will chase eachother tirelessly across the top of the tank and the platies will spend most of their time in the middle layers away from the hustle and bustle of the danios.

I wouldn't be too worried about the danios making tons of fry, they eat a lot of their own eggs and, even if some make it, the fry wouldn't stand a chance.

Yes, it is the sad truth

i think my danios have laid eggs, but im having a hard time verifying this, they are small white blobbish things not bigger then a salt grain(not in the fish) its on the bottom of their tank and ive seen them pick at it a little not sure if it is eggs, my best bet is to wait

ive had eggs many many times now. never any fry thought, they always get eaten first.

i just class them as a decent free meal for them

do they sound like i have eggs as described in my previous post?

sounds very familiar. can you see any "globish" type clear substance as well?
drool is the only word i can think of to describe it.

not that i can see, the holding tank is sorta cloudy i wouldnt see its impossible, its mos definietly not feces or whitespot, and not a fungus it might be and there not going to eat it cuz there being fed regularly atleast once a day, my platy swims around the smaller holding tank waiting for the day that they can come out, its adorable to watch :)

it probably is i just used a turkey baseter to get them out there not really globbish

ill take a picture

whats their minimum requirement for hatching?

there are the suspected eggs i put some of that in the gravel of the main tank are eggs suppoed to be clumpped together?
