A few weeks ago, one of our Danios was suffering from a buoyancy problem. We pit him in another bowl and added some medication and after 2 days, much to my surprise, he seemed ok and returned to the main tank. We have now noticed a Danio with a reddish 'stain' on its rear belly area. No idea if it is the same Danio or not.

Can anyone suggest what the problem may be? It doesn't appear distressed and the other fish appear OK.

could be something like dropsy.

could you provide more info? how many and what fishes? how big of a tank? water stats?

Could also be a swim bladder problem!

Good luck!

A reddish stain could be septicemia which is really hard to cure What are your water stats, tank size and stock?
