Hello everyone. I've been trying to breed my Zebra Danio's for quite some time now. Yesterday I noticed my fish were chasing each other and all females were bloated, but there was one that was so bloated that her spine was bent inwards. Today morning I checked to notice most of the females were thin-ish. Does this mean they laid their eggs? How do I know? When do I remove them. Also I'm breeding the Glofish for fun and not for profitable purposes.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like they were spawning.

If the fish can get at their eggs, then they will eat them, you need a substrate of marbles or mesh that will allow the eggs to sink to the bottom. With them having spawned, this is the time to remove the adults, and allow any fry to grow on in that tank until they are large enough to survive with the adults.

I should also point out that the Glofish(R) company specifically prohibit intentional breeding of the fish, except for educational purposes in a bona fide educational institution.

Thank you The_Lock_Man for the quick response! Yes i do have marbles and lots of plants around. Should I turn off the filter so it doesnt suck up the eggs?(its a sponge filter) Should i stir up the water in hopes of lifting the eggs from the marbles?
Thanks in advance!
