I created this thread after my dad visited a second hand store and found a stack of 5 fish keeping books ( One being Axelrods Mini encyclopedia with 1800 colour pics of fish) and paid $7.50 Australian for the lot :D :good:

So what bargains have you people gotten? Paid $3 for a $50 fish? got a 100 gallon tank for $50?

( This may of been a previously created thread but worth bringing up again I feel.)

full reef set up including RO Unit, MH lighting, UV Steriliser, LR, fish and corals - £150

we have needed to upgrade some things but that certainly saved us a big chunk, well in fact it simply enabled us to set up a marine tank as new we'd priced it up to £800 which we simply couldn't afford

for getting a beautiful teenage frontosa (fins and all beautifully shaped, stipes on the body super vivid, and would swim very close to the tank excitedly when a customer comes into the shop) for $10 singaporean dollars for my uncle.
(P.S. the other shops in the neighbourhood would sell this fish for at least 50 singaporean dollars)

My 6 x 2 x 2ft tank, stand, cabinet, couple of external filters (three I think), couple of air pumps, several large ornaments, gravel, fake plants, few books, nets, heaters, lights, breeding cones/nets, unopened medecines/food etc for either £100 or £150 (cant remember now). I love Ebay :good:

hehe 55 gallon, 40 gallon, 5 gallon and 10 gallon tanks all for free along with 2 filters , a heater and a bunch of decorations ^^

 I'm soooooo upset. I just saw an ad in the paper for a 75 gal tank with stand and a 25 gal tank with stand all for FREE! I called the number and he had already gotten rid of it. WELL DUH :X. Of course he had. It was FREE! And I have terrible luck. It makes me so sick!

Whoever got that-got a heck of a deal!

:fish:

3x12x12 floating base, £3. Delhezi, £10 (I asked for a palmas, silly wholesalers). 8" senegal, £11. Most of my betta tanks, £1.50 or less. 4x12x15 with hood, free.

80 gallon, 25 gallon with stand, 45 gallon with stand, at least three or four tanks ten gallons and under, not to mention a lot of equipment: all free over the years.

can i take this opportunity to state that i hate u all!

a rena classic (tank, filter, heater stand) nets, (aquarium) vacum lots of different unopend meds for free just had to convince my parrents it was a good deal and would fit in the computer room :)

my best is my orniments it large castles and a few extras well these 2 section of the castle costs £55 each in the shop so its £110 for the whole thing!!!!

Our 48G Rena 100 marine tank included Arcadia lighting, filter, protein skimmer, heater and tons of food, barnacles etc. all for £300. We worked it out and it would have cost over £800 new! :D
