Your 4Th Of July Plans...

Happy day before 4th of July!

Thought I'd start a GC thread on this subject to celebtrate USA Independance day.

Me, I'm going to Founder's Park in Islamorada, Florida. Sort of the middle of the Florida Keys for Hot dogs, beer, and a fireworks display on the beach. I think it's time to try out my digital camera on fireworks. Hopefully, the weather will not be too bad, though I'm expecting some rain.

Why would you want to celebrate your Independance from the the old UK

So, as a Brit, tell me how you Yanks celebrate July 4th, sounds similar to the way we celebrate new Year?

I'm not American however the 4th july is my brothers birthday so
he is comming here for dinner.

My dad's birthday so were having a big dinner then party chill out....

I've got 10 pounds of ground sirloin for burgers, 10 pounds of Italian sausage. I had to eat some leftovers to make room in the fridge for this today, rough job but someone has to do it. Still need to go out for breads & such in a bit, one nice advantage to being in a bigger city is that things like there are available no matter what the hour.

We have family over, the kids invite friends over, fish buddies stop by, pretty much an open thing for Independence Day. Various pyrotechnics throughout the day, and well into the night, the whole neighborhood has a fog of smoke after sunset.

nothing been nagging my dad to get some sort of fireworks but hes not moving "got more important things to do"

club had a fireworks thing today before everyone else decided to blow theirs up tomorrow, missed it as we had errands to do

I wonder how many Americans watch the film independance day on the 4th July

Well, my plans got rained out. Too dangerous to drive to the keys with the thunderstorms, so staying local. Eating out, having beer, watching fireworks between rumbles of thunder and flashes of lightning.
