....well I thought nothing had come of it as she started behaving normally again and there was no sign of anything different.

BUT I just did a water change and when I moved the ornaments I saw at least 3 fry :hyper: I don't know what to do!!!!!

I haven't been feeding them fry food, but I do scrunch some flakes up small for my rasboras so they could be eating those.

I don't actually particularly want these fry as the tank is already fully stocked and I can't fit in any more adult platys. What should I do?

And yes, I know she'll probably have more in due course even though I don't have a male in there.

Leave them then like in the wild it's survival of the fittess
They may well get eaten

I think I may have lost a couple by disturbing them and forcing them out in the open :(

As far as I can tell there are 2-3 still under my driftwood. I think I'll leave them alone and see what happens.

Actually this explains why the fish weren't hungry yesterday, they'd probably had a nice big meal of fry earlier in the day :/

There are 3 female platys and 6 hengel's rasboras in an 8 gallon tank. Not much room for extra fish!

I made the mistake of telling my children about the babies, now I have my son in tears at the thought of the bigger fish eating them  But I thought I'd better warn him in case none survive.

Impossible to count but I think there are about 5 alive in there now. I found a couple more under a rock.

I saw a couple of babies bravely poking their heads out at feeding time this evening. Hope they didn't end up as a snack

Do you think Maidenhead Aquatics will take the babies back if they survive to maturity, that's where I bought the pregnant female?
