woohooo got my new tank up and running.
I upgraded from a 2 foot tank to a 160 litre
98 cm Width
70 cm Depth (radius)
60 cm Height
I am having to do a fish in cycle as I had no alternative but I am running the filter from the old tank in the new tank along with the new external filter. I will test daily till my water stats are perfect.
Anyway I have a pair of kribs, a 6 month baby krib, a flame tetra, 4 silver tip tetras and 3 mountain minnows.
What Im doing now is researching what kind of fish I can add to the tank.
I know I have to be careful about bottom dwellers cause of the kribs and kids want a red tailed shark to put in but I don't think that will go.
Does anyone have any ideas what to put in with these fish.
all ideas will be looked into.
Thanks

Wow, that's quite a tank!!! I don't see why it would have to cycle that much if you're using the same filter from the previous tank??? Unless you added new fish when you moved them over....not a good idea.

Don't add ANY new fish until you're sure the water quality is sorted out. Use a liquid test kit to test for ammonia, nitrtite, and nitrate. Remember do water changes if ammonia or nitrite test over .25ppm. You may have to do a couple 50% wc a day until it's sorted out. It just depends on how much the filter has to catch up. After the filter catches up I'd wait a few weeks to add new fish to let it all stablize. The longer you let it sit and stabalize the easier it will be on the filter to add new fish. Remember a mature filter can double bacteria in about 24-48 hours.

I'm not to familiar w/Krib compatibility, but through research found these as some possible fish for you. Someone w/more experience could comment also and let us know for sure.
"The Kribensis should be kept in groups of pairs and is compatible with Black Skirt Tetra, Bleeding Heart Tetra, Blood Parrot Cichlid, Buenos Aires Tetra, Cherry Barb, Chinese Algae Eater, Clown Loach, Colombian Tetra, Congo Tetra, Croaking Gourami, Dwarf Gourami, Dwarf Neon Rainbow, Emperor Tetra, Glass Fish, GloFish, Iridescent Shark, Kissing Gourami, Kuhli Loach, Molly, Otto Catfish, Pearl Gourami, Platy, Queen Arabesque Pleco L260, Rainbow Shark, Ram Cichlid, Red Tailed Shark, Rosy Barb, Serpae Tetra, Severum, Silver Dollar, Sparkling Gourami, Swordtail, Three Spot Gourami, Tiger Barb, Tinfoil Barb, Zebra Danio"

Thanks for the reply.
I'm not planning on adding any fish until I get the tank stabalised.
tests today showed 0 for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates which makes me think Ill be doing a mini cycle.
Kids want a shark and we were looking at fish today and saw some nice kissing gouramis and silver dollars so if they are fine with a pair of kribs we will get them in a few weeks time.
