Yey! New Tank :d

I have just recieved my brand new Juwel Rio 180, and i have a few queries.

My current tank has a Fluval 105 external, with a few fish in it. If i were to move the fluval across, could i also move the fish without having to let the tank cycle? i am planning on low-tech planting the tank, and i have small gravel, would this work? i was thinking low light, hardy plants such as the Java species.

if the filter your moving is cycled then if you move it over to the new tank it will be fine with your current stocking

yeah sorry, forgot to say that, the fluval has been set up for well over a year so is fully cycled

then you will be fine just dont add too many new fish in 1 go and leave it a couple of weeks inbetween each addition

thanks for all the replies guys, i moved them across earlier today and they are all now swimming about hapily, i did also add another 2 danios, so ill give it a week or two before starting to up my stocking

ok normally when people get new tanks they are an upgrade not all but most are. the op didnt say so i just mentioned that if they were to add more fish then to take it easy on numbers as the filter will be cycled to the current stocking and adding more fish could cause an ammonia spike if too many too soon are added......
as it happens they have added some new fish and if you read my reply properly you will see that i didnt mention "staggering the addition of fish" i said he would be fine on the current stock
if you have nothing of interest for the op then dont start trying to pick at peoples comments without reading them in full first
as andy said and understood NEW fish need to be added in stages to let the filter catch up with the bioload, is that so hard to understand?
