Hi,

I'm planning to add guppies in my 23gal, and maybe a malaysian trumpet snail or ghost shrimp. Will 8 guppies be allright? Or will I get oversticked? My tank stats are in my sig.

I found that Serpae tetras were really nippy :( They mawled my Blue ram some new fins (then he died) :(

Get an Apple snail!! :D

Yeah, serpaes can get a bit nippy at times, but they were fine with some platys I had earlier on, so I'm guessing the guppys will be allright.

Thanks for the replies :)

I don't know if I'd risk Guppies with Serpaes. The Serpaes may have been fine with the Platies, but male Guppies have long flowing fins which Platies do not have. And those fins will be a target for the Serpaes. :/

Edit: Also, if you wanted to get Guppies, I'm assuming you wanted males and females? If you have females, you'll get lots of fry. The Serpaes may eat some, but you'd need to be prepared for some to survive. Which means your tank may get filled up quickly...

Actually, I'm having second thoughts on guppies, maybe I'll go for some corys instead, I love corys. :) And they'll keep clean too.

Moreover, I won't have any tank to keep the guppy fry...corys might really be a wiser choice.

I wouldn't worry about the guppy fry, because enless you have tons and tons of plants in your tank, your tetras will eat them all.

 But I do have tons of plants
