I went to pick up a couple more zipper botia the other day, tought I'd managed to get the last two. But once I got them home, I realised only one was actually what I wanted and the other is in the pic below. Obviously a loach of some description, but which one? Could it be a juvenile dwarf chain, or something else? It's only about an inch long head to tail, so may not have it's full markings/colourings yet. Will it be alright on it's own with my other fish, or will it need to be in a group? My other fish are; 6 female dwarf gouramis, 4 albino cory, 3 zipper botia, 5 ottos, 3 female & 1 male guppy plus fry (guppies being moved when I get another tank.) The tank is 40 ukg. Sorry if the pics not brilliant, this fish is FAST!
Thanks in advance for any help.

It's a kuhli loach. He should be fine with your other fish but they definitely prefer sand to gravel as they are bottom dwellers.

Impossible to tell from the picture. Can you get a better one, ideally from top and side (to get a better idea of body shape)?

I think it could be A Dwarf chained Loach which is pretty similar to the Black lined loach..
Could be either of those but i am no loach expert.

I may be wrong about the kuhli loach but I also don't think it is either of the other 2 loaches mentioned either. I was more basing my ID on the thin, elongated body.A better picture would definitely help.

Yeah it could be a Sidthimunki.

Is that the proper name for the dwarf chain loach? I think it's what was on the tank label(thought the lfs had just mislabelled the zippers). Could be I picked up the last zipper loach that happened to be in where the 'Sidthimunki' were as they were the only two in there? If so, will it be ok with the gravel or should I move it too a finer substrate? My cories haven't come to any mischief, nor have the zippers with the black gravel.
Thanks for everyones help.
