I brought a yellow-spotted pleco last week and i've seen him once! He just hides in a novelty car i've got in the tank (little does he know that I will be removing it in 1 week when I do a tank re-decorate)...

I know they only come out at night but does anyone else ever see there pleco this little??

Also, he's hanging upside in the car all the time (this won't do him any damage will it?)

i have a common plec and hes constantly cruising around sucking on things so im not sure there but the upsidedown-ness wont hurt him.

seen my common in some rite funny upside down postitions......still sucking away lol.

jus need one that can live out of water and eat dust and ill never have to hoover again!

All plecos like to hang upside down, no worries. If you remove his car, make sure he has something to hide in as they really don't come out much at all.
I've had three L200's for a few years now and I lurve them, but they're very reclusive, even in a tank all to themselves. I've never been able to get a good shot of them but I took this one the other night...

...they're so skittish that even the light from my camera scares them away. I can sit watching mine from about six feet away and if I so much as reach up to touch my hair- they're gone!

I can understand that, they're not aggressive eaters...only towards each other. Good luck with him!

Sure, if it gets hungry enough it will look anywhere. Hopefully he'll settle in nicely for you though, but if not you might have to spoon feed him by putting food either in his cave or very close to him while you feed the others.

How long have you had it? Because I found with my common pleco it took him almost a year to get used to me being 6ft away from the tank and if I got to close to him, he would go and hide but now since he is in my 55g he even lets me measure his length! :hyper:
