Well after no movement in nitrite and it clearing small and larger amounts of ammonia in 18 hours (4ppm and 7ppm) down to no nitrite at all.... Im stocked......

6 Zebra Danio's
2 Opaline Gourami's
1 Baby RTBS
2 Gibbs

I know the Gibbs will out grow at some year but i may not have them for that long or i may have a larger tank.

I wanted Pearl but nowhere has any near here so i might replace them in time but wait and see how they all settle in. There all bagged up acclimatising..... just added the tank water to the bags......

Im thinking let the RTBS in and find an area then release the rest in 10 mins Apart in 2 goes.
2 gibbs and opalines togeather
then the 6 danio's

Ideas?

I will aim for some pics in a few hours when i can get the light on......

Im Happy now!!!!!!

PS. Anyone know of a catfish begining with P. Look shark like with wiskers and stripped only grow about 15cm long. we saw one and he was going CRAZY!!! he was soooooo cute but someone got to him first.......

tank size?
how long did you let your tank cycle? if i read correctly 18hrs to get from 7ppm to 4?
the nitrite will take longer time to get a colony going then the ammonia.

its a 30 Gallon tank and a metre longthat is 7-0 or 4-0 in 16-18 hours. and hasn't budged for a week and a half.PS tank had been going for about 5 weeks.

The catfish sounds like Pimelodus Pictus, grow to about 6" and very active! I'm afraid your tank wouldn't be big enough though as they prefer to be kept in groups of 3+ and need plenty of swimming space.

Not going in my tank now i have my run but in 6 months im getting a 6ft tank. maybe then.

6ft tank, you lucky thing! The Pictus would be in their element in that size tank!

Im looking and wondering what to do as i can fit a 6ft tank no problems but do i get an 6ft x 1.5ft x 1.5ft or 6ft x 2ft x 2ft they seem to be the more common size. I would like 6ft x 1.5 x 2ft or similar.... Either way its likely to be a replacement tank.

The wife wants Bala's so thats my angle to buy it!! and also she wants Golden Nuggets....

Im using this tank as an easy starter to see how it goes then look at rearanging my living room for my new tank..... Im gonna need ALOT of sand!!!! LOL

Sounds like it's going to be a nice set up when you get it. Be careful with the Golden Nugget Plecos as they aren't the hardiest of fish.

Ill be using my existing filter and a new filter which should run it in fast. Ill split the media between them. Run a fish cycle with the existing fish and let it settle then start adding. shouldn't be long to stabalise the water for less hardy fish. (He says.....)

it will take some time to setup but worth the effort. untill then my efforts are on my new tank.....

I think even in mature and well established tanks, they don't seem to do that well unfortunately. :/
It will certainly be worth the efffort when you've got it set up and we will be demanding pics! ;)

Yeah pics will be a promise....

If i had the money....Zebra Pleco's!!! i just can't justify 100 quid each and you need 2 IMHO.... Especially after the cost on setting up the tank too.....

We have 4 of them in the hope that we have 2 males and 2 females so that we can breed them. I know they cost a lot of money but well worth it, they are beautiful looking fish.

A lot of people have had success with breeding them and with others it has taken quite some time.
