im so excited, ive been fand feeding my semi-blind(i think) dwarf gaurami cause its the only way he will eat. and the only thing ive been able to feed him was live bloodworms i would lower in his mouth. i was really worried about him getting sick though from such a high protein diet and no balance but today he took two and a half flakes that i put next to his mouth. :)

most he couldnt get and went to my overzealous gold barbs but that he took some at all is very encourageing. i think ill go out and try to find bigger flakes so i can get them closer to him.

You should get a turkey baster. That way you won't keep having to wash your hands before and after feeding him.

Gouramis (my dwarf ones, at least) aren't too picky about what they eat. They suck the food in and don't seem to notice what it is. You might also want to try some frozen brine shrimp to test if he can see or smell it...

What makes you think he's blind?

well, i put some meds in there for fish rot and he ate the whole tablet before it could dissolve(it never said on the instructions to disolve it in a cup before hand..grr).

afterwards he got really sick and didnt come out of the corner for a week. then he got interested in food again and came to the top but he always seems like he cant focus and he cant seem to get any food like he used to, even when it's right next to him. i think one of his sense's is damaged. maby he lost some smell or taste or something making it harder on him?

Probably his smell and maybe his sight. I guess they didn't take that into account when giving info on the fish.

Sorry. :/

well done!

sorry to hear about his loss of sense's :/

Getting fish to eat is truly difficult some times, great to hear you got him eating in the end

Good work
