You read on the web about livebearers naturally stop eating for 12 hours when giving birth...I am sitting here now watch my guppy give birth, she has already eaten 4 fry.... so I see thats wrong

Some females will do that, some will not. Every fish is differant, so are humans.

Yes, i've heard that statement that female will fast before and after pregnancy. I find if they're really stressed they won't eat, but if they're relaxed and feeling healthy they'll eat through the whole pregnancy. My female guppies will eat no matter what the time. I reccomend feeding them during birth giving to give them more energy and to relax them during this stressful time. Also feeding them during birth, prevents fry from being eaten as quickly.
