Yay! My Juwel Rio 400 Has Arrived,now For Some More Fish

The lfs informed me my rio 400 juwel tank has arrived,so now i have a massive amount of room for some more fish

I currently have:

3 Panda corys
4 pristella tetra's
2 gold rams

im intending of getting 3 more panda corys,and 2 more pristella's,to make them upto 6

then i would like to introduce some different species

im thinking:

2 blue rams
6 congo tetra's
6 harlequin rasbora's

any other ideas?

i would like in the future some discus,but i am not at all clued up on them,are any of the tank mates i said before not suitable to be with discus?

Add slowly dont forget to allow your 405 to catch up with the extra load, apart from that, Id say yes to the pristella and panda adding but maybe go to 8 of each, in such a large tank they will feel lost and you have the space.

Congos, the larger the shoal the less skittish they are, so 8 if you can, rasboras also could do with being larger shoal, maybe 10

If your wanting to do discus, remeber they need large water changes frequently, specially when young, so as long as your prepared to do that on a large tank, then your stocking will suit them, cept maybe the panda corys as they wont appreciate the higher temps discus will require, plus the congos may make them skittish as they are fast active fish, but when spooked can go crashing around the tank and would frighten the discus.

Hi mark, I too like discus but am not too clued up on them myself.

I have read though that they should be kept in 'species' tannks with no other fish as they can get aggressive

Nice tank by the way, I have the rio 125 and like it. Will soon be looking to get the trigon 350 I think

yep will do regarding the 405, i may run 2 405's and lose the internal,or the internal and the 405.

if i can have the fx5 (space allowing) i will go for that,lol

once its all setup,full of water,i will add the extra pristllas and panda's and leave it for a while,maybe also the 2 blue rams.

i will leave it for a few weeks then,as i will have no money left,lol

Minxy doesnt know a great deal about discus but a little, but I know those fish, cept those I mentioned would be ok with them.

i was going to ask if mopani wood would lower my ph slightly?

i have a fair bit soaking in my bath(6 or 7 BIG bits,lol),and i would like to add to to my tank setup.

im going for artificial plants at the back and a few real ones near the front,im well poor at keeping live plants

im now wandering if i should have got this size tank!! i no its nice to have a bigger tank,but i dont want it to look empty!! at the moment i would hope to have:

2 gold rams
2 german blue rams
8 panda corys
8 pristella tetra
8 congo tetra's (maybe)
10 harlequin rasbora's

this would still look rather empty surely!! i no i have to be patient and i always introduce slowly,but i may have to much room

in my local lfs i seen some small realy bright yellow cichlids,didnt have there name there,but they looked realy nice,would i be able to get any of them (sorry that a very vage description of them)

after that u can stock alot of fish maybe an oddball they are awesome ive got a Black Ghost Knife, But!! be careful choosing the BGK if u have small fish liess than 8cm, O cories would be ok though since they are not as in your face as much as guppies r neons!!
