Yay! Free Fish

I went to Petco for some supplies yesterday and there were baby mollies in two tanks, all black. The guy fished them out and gave them to me. Now they are keeping my platy fry company in my five gallon tank....cute lil things, there were ten but only six came up when i fed them today. The others are either hiding or didn't make it. But its cool to have some more babies.

Now I just have to figure out where to put them when they get to big for the five gallon!! Great excuse to buy that other tank I've been thinking about....

You're getting addicted by the sounds of it! It's great finding an excuse to buy a new tank, trouble is I've run out of them myself!

awwww my lfs had some tiny baby black mollies last time I went in to buy fish, but he wouldn't let me have them, he said my guppies would eat them?



BUT,the strangest thing, I bought 4 fishes, 2 cories and 2 loaches. I counted them into the bag, so did the lfs staff, and so did my 3 yr old daughter. (Ok, not the most reliable witnness, I admit!) The fish were then taken out back for the bag to be sealed, and wrapped in newspaper. But when I got them home, out of the bag swam...2 cories,2 loaches, and a heavily pregnant female guppy!(babies came 5 days later)

That's a little odd. Your lfs guy was mean to not give the babies to you. I always make something up like "I have another tank for them".
