YAAAAAAAAYY!!

I have a male Green Frog for a little over a year now. I have been trying forever now to get him to sing--some frogs sing to certain music, others sing to frogsong, etc etc. I've played Techno, rock, celtic, classical, even rap for him as well as frogsong, but whatever I tried, I was NEVER able to get him to sing!!!

Then, this morning, I was woken up by my dogs barking. And barking. ANd barking. And then--my frog started singing along with my dogs!!! Not just a single "chirp," either--he was SINGING!!! :hyper:

Chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp!!! I was SOOO happy!!! And proud of my froggie. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! :hyper:

I just had to share that with you....

Hm, is that a mating call. If so, are you planning on raising a few tadpoles.?

I'm keeping my little pop star in a 20 gallon tank with about 4 or 5 inches of water and river rocks all piled up in one corner to form land. Froggy likes hiding out underneath a clamshell on the land. It's fun to watch the crickets go under there, cuz it's quiet for a second and then CHIRP! and the whole clamshell leaps.

But no, wasn't a mating call, though--at least I hope not, as he was singing to the dogs! :blink:

He's also alone in his tank (which is generally best for frogs). But I am raising a tadpole!! A huge, five-inch-long bullfrog tadpole. Looks like a monster, but he's just a gentle giant. I keep him in my fish aquarium--my swordtail fry like hanging out with him for some odd reason.

Is that not the coolest thing you ever heard!!!!!!!!!!!
I love when my green tree frogs sing (seems to annoy the hubby though, but who cares about what he thinks...)
Mine sing in the summer and esp in spring.
Mostly when the hummidity changes and it is about to rain or thunderstorm, like having your own little weather Froggies.
Try getting more, they forggies sound so cool when you have an ocharstra (sp?)
I have 3!
Only 2 males sing, the female is rather shy!
I am so happy for you N2KB!
