Still need a few items to complete some tanks, but after hours and hours of rearranging all four bettas are in their official homes.

female in 10 gallon (completely set up)
male in 5 gallon (completely set up)
male in 5 gallon (still needs filter)
female in 3 gallon (needs new biowheel filter - so it's running with just a heater for a few days!)

Hope they all are happy. :)

Then I also have a 5th tank - a 5-gallon, which is totally overcrowded with other fish (no bettas)!

soudns good! :) Im sure there vey happy!
How about pictures of each of their homes?
I knew you guys would ask for pictures. I'll get some taken.

Today my goal is to get the top for my guppy/platy/pygmy cory tank (overcrowded tank). They were put in last night and I have two books covering the tank to keep my cat away from them. The Whisper PF10 is too strong for the 5-gallon. . .so gotta put some foam in there to slow the flow. (I chose a heftier filter since the tank is overstocked)

Why would you want an overcrowded tank? This will put too much stress on your filter's bioload and give you ammonia spikes which can cause disease.

Why not switch the fish in the overcrowded 5 gallon into the ten gallon ( which I recall you said looked odd with only a female betta in it who apparantly dislikes tankmates ?) and put the female into the 5 gallon. 5 gals is fine for the female and the others would have a lot more space.

Well, it's not THAT overcrowded. Tomorrow I'm adding 10 more pygmies and a male platy for the female platy so she can pop out some little ones! ;)

No seriously that's very overcrowded for a 5 gallon and will be even more so if you add more fish . The ten will suit their space needs far better espescially if you intend to breed livebearers, I hope you have a growout tank for the fry because they will simply keep reproducing if you add a male and since the 5 gallon is already overstocked, the population problem will cause serious water problems even with a filter. Pygmy cories are indeed very small but they are active and ten + definitely need more than 5 gals of floorspace.

I was JOKING!!! I'm not putting any additional fish in, especially 10 more pygmies. Sadly, it looks like one of the remaining two pygmies hasn't transitioned well. I moved all the old gravel over and carefully acclimated the fish over many hours and still this one hasn't moved pretty much all day and I just checked on her and she's having difficulty swimming so I've taken her out of the tank. I'll try feeding her some bits of food. . .but I don't think she's not going to make it. She's been in the tank a few months. The other one seems fine but probably will be taken back to the pet store to be re-homed.

When/if the guppys breed, I'll split the 10-gallon and put the fry on one side OR get another tank. A LFS said they'd take the fry. It's a cruel cruel world as I may feed some of the fry to my bettas as "live food."

i have guppy fry in with my betta. initially he ate two of them and then couldnt be bothered to chase them around anymore-the two he ate were runty anyway so probably wouldnt have lasted too long anyway. and they grow very fast to boot. if you are going to use the betta as a cull method, i would suggest another method.
my guppy fry were from a drop from a female in my turtle tank...the filter too strong and nitrates too high for the babies to stand a chance. thought the betta would enjoy them more than he did. just a thought for you..glad you have someone to take the fry that survive.
cheers
