I saw some of these at my LFS today, they were 2, maybe 3 times the size of regular guppies & beautifully coloured.

A couple of the females also had really large, colourful fins more like the males.

Has anyone had any experience with these? Will they only mate with each other or would they mate with smaller guppies? If I bred a pair of the XL's would the fry be XL too do you think?

Considering going back tomorrow for a pair if there are any left.

hi Kari :)

i got some of the giant variety, all were heavily pregnant, sadly they have all died( looked like fin rot but took jold within hours and treated but didnt work) :( ( guppies are not as strong as they used to be) but one dropped close to 60 fry which are doing very well, im hoping that they will turn out to be the giant type too.
they r really lovely fish and im gutted that i couldnt save them, considering they had only been delivered o maidehead aq the night before it was probably too much stress for them

go for it, get them, im sure you wont regret it :)

Their are the same as regular guppies and will breed with such.
Their just either grown on longer to sell for more money or they are ex brood stock from a guppy farm.

Old brood stock fish are sadly old already and dont have long to live, but if they look good fresh and young then you should expect another 18 months to 2 years.
