I am thinking about getting some of these. I have a heavily planted 10 gallon tank that I would put them in. Can someone give me their personal experiences with this species?

I haven't kept them, but know people who have, and they like them a lot. They're much like any other Xiphophorus in terms of care, but less tolerant than domesticated varieties in terms of environmental failings: they need a good current, lots of oxygen, hard water, and perfect water quality.

Cheers, Neale

I found they was relatively easy to keep and like it cool, I found they did best in groups, and tend bot to do much to the fry if their flock breed.

If you start with a pair then they can kill the fry at first.
