im thinking of picking up some Xiphophorus Alvarezi just a few questions before i delve in, can they live with killifish fish (Aphyosemion australe) or would i be better setting them up apart (havnt bought any killifish yet btw) ive included a pic of the fish for what thats worth maybe be of some help

also how easy r they to breed and how easy/hard is it to sell the fry after they have bred. livebearers arnt really my area so i figured id ask the fine ppl who dwell in the area of this board :good:

These are stunning fish but like killi's are very good jumpers so you need a tight fitting lid.

The are harder to breed then the common swordtail but with a little work you soon lurn what to look for and trapping a females will resualt good fry.
They are not as fast growing as well but their lovely fish and well worth trying.

You could try selling fry at livebearers auctions which are generaly help in Derby and Corby and other auctions at fish shows and stuff, of if their is much of a demand then e-bay and other online auctions.

These was selling at the last livebearer auction for £5-8 a pair if i remember correctly

thanks helterskelter :good: can i assume there are alright with killifish then?

Sorry i forgot to say LOL....

If it's a large tank 2' or larger it should be ok, but some killi's can be a night mare

its a 3' tank i think i might chance it see how i go i have another tank i can move the swords into if it all get s a bit hairy  cheers again mate :good:
