Last night I noticed my eiblii angel was hiding, when I got a closer look his fins were all chewed up! I have never seen any other fish mess with him. I don't know if my lawnmower blenny has made him his new target or if my 2 cleaner shrimp were eating him alive or if my yellow tang, that always hides, is harrassing him at night. Well anyway, I turn the light on this morning and my angel is dead with a bite mark on his head and his fins more chewed up! Could this be the nature of out timid yellow tang? This is really getting me down!

I begining to wonder if the tang is underfed, he doesn't come out at feeding and all I see him eat is the seaweed we put in there, which the angel also liked to eat, was the angel compitition for his food?

could be try useing lettuce or something on a clip what sucks onto the glass so you can see when he feds if he is feeding

but more exerpinced fishkeepers will probable help u out later on

ur welcome

i wish i could be more helpfull but i cant lol

Whats the full stock list and how long have the fish been in the tank?

After the death of my bi color blenny, turbo snail and eiblii angel I currently have
1 dying cleaner shrimp
1 healthy cleaner shrimp
2 ocellaris clowns
1 lawnmower blenny
1 yellow tang

Most of the fish have been in the tank for over one month with the exception of the tang, he's been in there 2 weeks. The lawnmower has been in the longest followed by the clowns then the cleaners. We pretty much got a new fish each week and they were all doing fine untill we started adding the stop parasite. It seems like all the problems really started when we added the tang, that's when my bi color started bumping against rocks and the tang looked like he might have had ich, that's why we started the stop parasite, which as of tonight I've decided to stop adding because of all the deaths. Hopefully it won't cause more harm by stopping it. =/

What kind of treatment is this "stop parasite"? Also, have you considered running a UV sterilizer? Would really help lower your pathogen count

You said that the fins looked all chewed up? My coral beauty looked that way right before he died. One thought I had was that it looked like he had been in a fight. But I never saw any of my other fish be agrssve with him. the only fish that would compete with him for food was my lawnmower blenny. Yesterday I was looking up all the characteristics of my fish and I found one site that metioned that lawnmower blennys may be agressive toward angels. Just a thought... -_-

Can you give us full tank specs & also feeding, water change Regimes etc

:good:Is it possible you have over dosed on Stop Parasite

The bottle of stop parasite says its reef safe for all reef inhabitants and is copper free, what it does is speeds up the fishes natural slime coat so parasites detach themselves. It also attracts parasites and makes the think it is food. And it speeds up appetite and build the immune system. Says it will not harm the internal organs of the fish. That's what the bottle says. I couldn't have overdosed. Our tank stats are as follows

Ph 8.4
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 15
Salinity 1.023-4
Temp 78

We feed the fish 3 times a day with formula one and two. Once a day the clowns get brine shrimp. And the tang gets seaweed. We tried lettuce, but he didn't eat it.

We've had the tank for almost two months running with a two year old filtration and have done one 25% water change and are due for the 2nd here soon.

As for the uv sterilizer, we have been looking into them and will probably purchase one.
