Good luck next time :p

IMO, just let the pair try to spanw again, and don't bother them until the female takes the fry out of the cave to explore the tank :D

It's not easy keeping young fry alive. You need to pick up some liquid fry food and/or you can try some very, very finely crumbled flakes. Liquid would probably be better. I think it's malachite green that is recommended in the tank but I am not sure. Heat isn't that important if they are in a stable environment. I have kept them on the kitchen counter before (far away from the stove or other appliances as they generate extra heat) and kept my house thermostat at 75F. I didn't use air in mine because in a small container like that it can cause too much current. You will need to feed several times a day and keep up water changes, daily small changes is best. You can also try some baby brine shrimp but they may be too small to eat them right now. Not sure what else to tell you as the ones I have raised were from mouthbrooders and were swimming really well when we stripped the mothers.

GOOD LUCK! Keep us posted!

The temp of the water will fluctuate a lot in a small container like that. The temp and pH in the first 3 weeks will determine the sex ratio of the fry.

When parent fish feel threatened by other fish possibly eating their fry , if there isn't much they can do to prevent it , many times they eat the fry themselves , maybe your male felt this way when you turned the cave over .

good luck , never give up

I,ve found the male will always eat then given half the chance, i leave the female to protect them from him, then when she brings them out to exsplore, shypon then out to a new tank.
