This is seriously a conversation I had with my dad yesterday...

Dad: Why do you have that box floating in your tank?

Me: Because I have the betta I rescued in there, and he can't go in that tank anyways.

Dad: He looks ok, whats wrong with him.

Me: Remember, he is the fish that couldn't swim when I brought him home. Plus his fins are still really dammaged, see? [I point out all the dammage and also his improvement] At a minimum, I have to keep him isolated for two weeks. Plus, he can't be in a tank with the tiger barbs, because they are too agressive.

Dad: You should just flush him and fill that tank up with fish.

Me:      No, he's doing great.

Dad: Still, fill that tank UP with fish!

Me: I can't put many more fish in here, maybe a few bottom feeders, but the tank is really close to its stocking limit. Plus I right now i have some nitrite in the water, and I need to get that to zero before doing anything else.

Dad: Forget all that c***. Just add more fish, they will be fine

At this point I left and walked away. I can't get how someone can be so ignorant and willing to just throw fish into a bowl and watch them die. :dunno:

Stick to your own advice, you will have to learn your dad on fish and the cycle. good luck.

sometimes parents think they know everything mine do anyway!most of the time theyre rong i just egnore them n carry on with what i was doing

if my dad was stupid (which he isnt he is like the next albert einstien (?) ) but yea needless if my dad was stupid and he said that stuff to me i'd slap him! and kick him outta the house!

edit: infact when i wanna buy some more fish he yells at me and tells me i have to many already :p :S
