Some of you may already know that my new hobby is keeping house-plants. Lately, drawing from a fellow hobbiest, I had tried feeding my plants by using re-cycled tank water with a mix of plant food.

A day later, and not in direct sunlight, my Buxton mineral water bottle, handy and versatile, is showing a 'milky' texture. I wonder whether this is still usable for my plants? Or has it become 'toxic'? :)

PS and all this time I had never known!

The milky cloud in your water bottle is most likely a bacterial bloom. This will be harmless to your plants, in fact, it is ia sign that there are lots of nutrients in the water that your plants will love...

Think of the cycle in your tank Ammonia -> Nitrite -> Nitrate... in a fully cycled tank there should be nitrates present just before a water change... Nitrates are used in plant fertilizer

Just make sure you have no ammonia levels in the water as this will harm the plants.

I dunno...I once left a mineral water bottle lying around, with just plain water in it, and after a couple of days it turned milky because it has fermented.
