water changes will depend on your stocking,type of fish and even plant set up. My heavy planted tank does great with 20% every 10-14 days my other tank needs 30% every 4-7 days

how do u do your water changes like 5 gallon bucket maybe ? trying to think of how to transport the water from my bathtub to the tank

Okay, so the tank would be 136 Litres therefore you would need:


Eheim External Filter Classic 250 with Bio Media and double taps = £92.99

I am currently running my tank with one of these external Eheims and they are well worth the money! Plus by getting an external filter you don't need to disturb the tank when rinsing filter material etc.



Arcadia Classica 200W Aquarium Heater = £22.49

For a tank your size you would be best with a 200W heater because 100W might be a bit low.


In terms of water changes a 10-20% partial water change weekly/fortnightly should keep the tank fresh with new water. Its down to preference tbh but 10% weekly would be my guesstimate.
