I need to be thrifty here! I've currently got four, two foot light strips - one on my freshwater community tank and the other three on my hermit crab tanks. Each light is a different color, and I'd like to change up the look of my aquarium a bit. I just tried my hand at aquascaping (the tank didn't turn out completely horrible), but I would LOVE a light that's less red to go with the new look. I'd like to stick the old Repti-glo UVB florescent on the tank as I think it'll look wonderful since the spectrum is so blue. The bulbs is well over a year old so it shouldn't be putting out any UVB, but I don't have a tester to verify. Does anyone know if this would be a bad thing to do? Between the glass on the canopy and the water itself I doubt that any remaining UVB would get through, but I feel better asking around first.
Thanks!
