Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of branching out from bettas and getting a bigger community tank, probably about 30-55 gals. I would like it to be lightly planted and I'm wondering if these would get along:

- a small group of praecox rainbows, about 6
- a similarly sized group of bronze cories
- an angelfish or two

I have never had a community before, only bettas, so this is rather daunting. I know angels can be aggressive, but are they compatible with these other fish? And would I be better off with one or a pair?

Thanks. :)

angels are best kept as a single or a group, rather than a pair.
don't forget that your tank needs to have a min depth of 18" (not including substrate) due to the length of the angels dorsal and pectorial fins. As an alternative to angels can I suggest festivums Mesonauta festivus
which are ok in pairs.

your idea of rainbows and corys is a good one and wil go well with the angels, if you decide that you want them.

here is one of my festivums
