This looks like a bargain and I was wondering if it would suit a betta if I put a small heater in it?

pentagon tank

Never had a betta before, but I'm seriously considering it, they look so beautiful.

I don't see anything wrong with it, but I'd never use a second hand tank just because you really don't know what was in it.

I can't tell how many gallons it holds, but it looks fine to me. And I say thank goodness for second hand tanks!! I've saved a small fortune by using second hand tanks!! Just make sure you scrub it really well. I usually throw out the rocks that come with second hand tanks but you can boil them or even bake them. When you clean the tank use one part bleach to twenty parts of water and scrub it really well. Rinse it really really well to get all the bleach off and let it dry in the sun. If you can't smell the chlorine any more then it's ok to use.

Sounds like a great size; I'd get it. ;)
Just make sure you clean it out & stuff of course.

It looks good, had it got a lid I cant remember?
I would throw out everything inside though, things are really hard to clean and you dont want anything nasty lurking in the gravel!

It looks from the photo as if it has a lid.

I was thinking of throwing that gravel out anyway, I don't like those colours apart from anything else! And if I replaced it with some sand or fine gravel, I could maybe put a couple of khuli loaches in too.

It looks as though the back may be mirrored. Bettas are not keen on seeing their reflection all the time, though some people say they will get used to it. In my experience they don't and you end up having to cover the mirror, which is a pain. Looks a nice tank otherwise. :)

Nice tank. Would look good with sand, but waayy too small for a khuli, which are shoaling, needing bigger tanks. Perhaps pygmy cories.
