Once my current female has passed away, I'd like to get a male betta.
I don't really want to add more females and a male to my tank as it already has 10/12 fish in it, and I don't think that would be enough females to ensure no casualties
Currently in my tank are mollies, platys, swords and my female betta, and I plan to buy some endlers once I can find some
So, would these fish be compatible with a male betta or not?
Thanks! :)

I would say its risky. Mollies and Swords can be quite pushy especially males and i think theres a good chace they would bully/nip him and out compete him at feeding time.

I have all females in my tank, though there is a tiny baby in there which may not be xD
A have a black molly in there at the moment and she seems to be 'in charge', but she usually darts to the back after feeding to look around the plants there, so I put a little more food in after for any fish that didn't get any first time round.
I also put in some daphnia/blood worm in the afternoon so they do get a little extra sometimes :)

in that case no, the swords need a 20gal minium IMO due to there size and activity, ideally you should be looking for a bigger tank for your current fish, then consider a male for the 30l

Okay. But, compatibility wise, would they all get on well? :)

As much as you want a male betta to live with other tropical fish. no.

Could have some otos.... and possibly a couple others.... but it depends on the betta. Why not just have a stunning male betta in a show tank by himself and plant it really well?

Keeping bettas with other fish is really not the best idea.
