Hello folks,,

I planted two new ludwig plants into my tank a couple of weeks ago and now they are pretty much gone. The stems are still there but the leaves have dissapeared, I was under the impression that my shark or something has stripped them. Will they grow back or should I try a different plant?

hmm nah i doubt it would have been a bala shark.
I've kept bala sharks before and never know them to eat leaves off plants.
They much prefer meaty food like bloodworm etc.

what other fish have you got in your tank?

silvertips guppies a pleco (but the plants were already eaten beforre he was there)

hmm.
maybe the plants just dropped their leaves due to stess and the difference in water params? have you checked water hardness, PH etc?

do the stalks still look healty?
what sort of substrate have you got? sand or stones?

I have stones as the substrate, the water up here is more on the soft side.

I have another plant of the same ion the tank and its not too bad, it's shooting up leaves all over. maybe it's just in the wrong place.
