Hello all! Some quick background for you: I had a 180gal fully planted rainbow tank for several years with great success. In 2001, while on vacation, a seal on the bottom of my tank gave way and I lost everything. I knew I would be moving soon so I put everything in storage.
I am now ready to get back into the hobby but I am looking for your input. Obviously I am not "new" to aquaria but its been a while and things change, and of course I can always learn more. What I would love to hear from you is what sort of planted freshwater setup you would suggest I do with my tank this time around. I am open to all ideas. I have ordered test kits and will give you some water readings soon but wanted to start the thread to get some ideas flowing.
Current equipment incliudes 180 gal tank, VHO lighting, Two Ehiem 2028 filters, CO2 equipment, etc. The tank will be in a low-light area so no real natural daylight will be available - and the average room temp is 66 degrees year round.
For one short minute, I thought about doing a fancy goldfish tank, but my heart is in tropicals so I think for now I will stay with that category of fish.
Thanks for your ideas!
Dave
