Both your catfish are Corydoras aeneus. They need to be in a shoal of at least six and would prefer a sand substrate; your gravel looks bit rough for them (rough gravel can wear away their barbels, leading to infections).

If you add four more cories, your tank will be full; actually probably a little overstocked, so you'll need to make sure you do nice large weekly water changes.

I would try and add a few more plants as well; fish always feel happier and, oddly, will be out and about more, if they have plenty of cover :good:

You have plenty of filtration; you know not to wash the filter media out in tap water and only in old tank water?

Is the tank heated? Can't see one in the pics but I am on my phone.

That for the replays. Do u recommend having sand on top and gravel below? As I had sand a while ago and of was quite messy and all ways caused cloudy water. The tank is heated yes its on the back wall on the left at about 25c

Unfortunately the sand will just fall through the gaps in the gravel and you'll end up with sand with gravel on top! Sand shouldn't cloud your water, as long as it's washed properly before you add it to the tank.

Yes of course it would didn't think of that. Thanks anyway I will look into it

There are a few people who do keep cories on gravel, but you must, must, must keep it absolutely spotless if you do.

Personally, I would never, ever keep them on gravel; only on sand. It's part of their natural behaviour to dig into the substrate with their noses, and they just can't do that on gravel.

What's the best way to Clean sand before putting it in tank??

Put 'some' (smaller amounts are quicker to do) sand in a bucket.

Fill the bucket full of water, and stir it really well, then pour out the water and all the floating stuff. Keep on doing that (an outside tap or hose really helps!) until all you have left is heavy sand that sinks to the bottom of the bucket in a few seconds.

You must be really ruthless about pouring away the lighter particles, even if you lose a bit of the 'good' sand along with it, as that's the stuff that'll cloud your tank :good:
