hi i have a 39gal cycling at the moment, n i was hoping to have 5 corys and a pair of kribs, i read that kribs can nip bottom dwelling fish, would they be ok together if i provide caves and plants for them to go in?

Mine don't - too busy chasing each other!

Male Krib chases female then female chases male...etc etc

Corys just go about their business regardless!

if i do go to get a pair of kribs, how would i get the pair should i just pick a female and male and they will get on or have they gotta pair off them selves?

Well mine arrives separately and seemed to get along okay - they do chase a lot but most often F chases M. Ideally you'd get a couple of each (M+F) and let the pairs form, but you might end up with some casualties that way - I did!

More of that story and details on sexing if it's any help here

Sexing Kribs

For what it's worth I'd get one of each and leave them to it. Pretty sure they will pair up eventually (any port in a storm and all that!) as they are quite prolific anyway.

I just bought a male and female from seperate shops to make sure they where not related and they paired up in no time and had eggs within the week.they do become very aggresive though and mine where nipping the cats when they went near the nest site
