the filter off for a while, and just leave the air stone on? I'm scared for my pregnant platy, she is very big now, and she's hiding under the filter, it's a big filter its called Whisper something but yeah, i can't cover it with a sponge, and i'm scared the fry will get sucked in there, what should i do? ):

Well i wouldnt turn off the filter as your tank would need to cycle all over again if you do. You could try some pantyhose over the intake

you have to look at it like this. Do you want tonnes of fry that you wont be able to keep anyway and a dead mother...or a few nice fry you will be able to keep and a mother to give birth to even more fry in months to come.
