You need a large surface area for copepods, if you cannot find anything else, I started off with a rectangular tupperware tub.

I am wary about ebay for pods unless they are Reef Phyto.

The pod feed is good, you don't need to keep the water as green as you do with Live Phyto.

Ensure you top off with RO as the water still evaporates.

I just take out some water with pods and filter that through a strainer (available from reef phyto) and add pods to the tank. I then top up the culture with fresh sea water.

It makes sense to change the water on the pods if you are doing the tank, does not need changing that often if usuing Reef Phyto copepod food, needs changing more often with Live Phyto.

ummm ok thanks

What I did not like about Reefstock was that they do not tell you the concentration of the pods you are buying. A 50ml tub could contain 50 pods, it could contain 100. You don't know.

I personally would buy DT's over Reefstock if I did not get the ultra concentrated live Copepod culture pack.

DT's

even though they don't tell you how many are in there to start with.

thanks ill start to do some more reading

I have used both DT's and reefworks copepods. I much prefer reefworks, you get a lot of pods :good: http://www.reefworks.co.uk/default.asp?sec...amp;subpage=101
I would also use DT's Phytoplankton, again I have tried several differant one's but find DT's the best, I get mine from midland reef. http://www.midlandreefs.co.uk/xcart/produc...at=0&page=1
Have you thought about using a kiddies goldfish bowl http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Blue-Goldfish-Bowl-F...%3A1%7C294%3A50
Then you just need a small pump, tubing and airstone.
Leave on a bright window sill, and in 3 to 4 weeks lots of pods :good:
