Would A Pond Filter Work?

This may sound crazy my not I'm not sure. But I have a 150 gallon that I want to overstock with mbuna's. I've been thinking about the filtration I'm gonna use and I was looking on ebay and found this http/cgi.ebay.com/2500-GAL-POND-FI...item58855b8641

Would it be possible to mod this pond filter or any other pond filter for that matter and use it on a fish tank. Or would it not work or would it make a whirlpool.

yeah i suspect the amount of water flow may be a bit much, or unless you can get some kind of spray bar to disperse it evenly so as not to make a whirlpool lol

That would be a lot of force coming out of one filter I would hate to buy it just to find out it makes a whirlpool. For that price though it would be a lot cheaper then my orginal plan which was buying 1 fx5 and 2 emperor 400's hat is if I can't get my 404 to stop leaking then I would just need on emperor

For another 50 bucks or so I can get a single fx5 that would do 925gph instead of spending 500 for two with a total of 554gph
