hi bae

copper bands are difficalt to feed and most people do keep them in reef tanks but are knowing to pick at tube worms stuff like that i have had a few and the were all fine but starved to death not had one in 4 years

as said above Copperbands don't have a great survival rate

They are reasonably reef safe but will eat fan worms & feather dusters

so should i get a file fish then or im worrird about my corals

I too would love a copperband but am put off by their problem eating  would it be true that if you get a smaller, juvie then you might have more luck? Has anyone on here had any success?

ps Bae, how many peppermints have you got, I have heard that you have to have quite a few to get them to eat the aiptaisia - I have two but I have just noticed a small patch of blooming aiptaisia on a rock and they haven't eaten them, wondered about getting some more

i had two but the second died a day after i got it stats are fine

but i think i may try to locate a copper band near me that feads well and try to keep one

Apparently if you can find one from Australia you have a better chance, they are, apparently better at catching and exporting

ill get searching at one point

and do you know this as your searching for them as youve bit the bullet and decided to get one

From experience, I'd say stock imported direct by your LFS (non-TMC stock basically) is more likely to eat than stuff bought from a Wholesaler... I haven't kept them long-term, but I do have to turn around a fair few emaciated Copper Bands at work. TMC Copper Bands are always hard work and are appalling to get to feed, if they ever do. Imports just need time and regular food and they are good for sale after 3-4 weeks usually...

ok ill try to avoid tmc

how much will i be looking at a non tmc copper band
